We didn’t fund a pitch deck.
We funded an experiment.

A founder came to us with real users, a real product, and one painfully clear problem:
she couldn’t run the experiment fast enough to learn.

So, we stepped in.

Not with a big check.
With metered micro-funding tied directly to evidence.

Here’s how it works:

• Up to $500 to run your first experiment
• Up to $2,600 per month for follow-on experiments
• Funding unlocks only when learning unlocks
• No decks. No theater. No vibes.

We fund things like:
– Increasing production capacity to ship test units
– Getting samples into real customers’ hands faster
– Measuring whether people actually reorder with their own money

We don’t fund:
– Experiments without clear hypotheses
– Ideas without real users

In this case, the founder didn’t ask us to believe.
She showed us exactly what she needed to test—and why.

That’s the bar.

If $500 could meaningfully speed up your next learning loop,
you’re exactly who this is for.

We’d rather fund ten small, honest experiments
than one big, imaginary plan.

Fund learning.
Everything else follows.

Just asking:)

I ask entrepreneurs and enterprise innovators, "What problem are you solving" and then I help them design and run experiments to prove the problem, test the solution, or grow. Lean Startup is my favorite tool, but I have many to help them minimize waste, reduce risk, go faster, and ultimately succeed faster. Sometimes I bribe founders to do their first 5 REAL ethnographic discovery interviews. I work or have worked with Google, the Department of Health and Human Services, The Build Institute in Detroit, Bunker Labs, 150 Startups (Alberta), KauffmanLabs, TechPeaks, Bizdom, Numa Paris, StartupIstanbul, Startup Chile, TurkishWIN, FastForward Ramallah, AOL, ESPN, NewsCorp, AMEX and others who don't want their competition to know just how valuable it can be to run the types of experiments I teach.

Hi Reader, One thing I want to be transparent about: I have been using Claude Code -- Anthropic's AI -- to help organize this conference. It has been finding speakers, building the invite list, drafting outreach, and scheduling this email. I am telling you this because it is relevant to what we are doing in Rome. The November 5th event is built around one question: what happens to startup programs when AI can do the work that used to require a team? We are not debating whether this is...
